It’s a new reporting year and time to plan for reporting and compliance deadlines from 2023’s activities and for the new year. Mark your calendars with these environmental and safety reporting deadlines and other to-do tasks for 2024:
EPA/Environmental
- March 1: EPCRA SARA Tier II (311 and 312)
- March 1: Hazardous Waste – Biennial Reports for Large Quantity Generators
- March 1 (Kansas): X-Ray Equipment Registrations (check your local state for the requirement near you)
- March 31 (March 29): Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report
- April 1: Air Emissions Inventory: Class I and Class II
- June 1: TSCA Form U Reporting (Due every 4 years, 40 CFR 711.20)
- July 1: EPCRA SARA Form R Toxic Release Inventory (313)
- July 1: Mercury Inventory Report, per TSCA
- July 15: Annual PCB Report, per TSCA
- July 31: Voluntary Form R or Form A Revisions to TRI-MEweb
- Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generators Requirement to Update Site Notification Information Every 4 Years
- Annual Supplier Notifications per EPCRA Section 313
- Required Annual Environmental Training in Specific Topics
OSHA/Safety
- February 1: OSHA Annual Injury and Illness Summary: Post from February 1st through April 30th
- February 15: OSHA VPP Sites Submit Annual Injury and Illness Rates per Annual Submission Document for VPP Sites
- March 2 (March 1): OSHA Electronic Injury and Illness Reporting for 2023 [Take note that more industries will be required to report this year.]
- Process Safety Management
- Annual Respirator Fit-Testing and Respiratory Protection Training
- Annually Required or Year-Based OSHA Safety Program Reviews
- Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan
- Lockout/Tagout Energy Control Procedures
- Permit-Required Confined Spaces Program and Cancelled Permits
- Lead Safety
- Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories (effectiveness of Chemical Hygiene Plan)
- Silica Exposure Control Plan’s Effectiveness
- Lead Safety
- Annual Audiograms for Hearing Conservation Program
- Required Annual Training in Specific Topics
DOT/Transportation
- June 30 (June 28): DOT Registrations
- Hazmat Refresher Training:
- DOT (Every 3 Years),
- IATA (Every 2 Years),
- IMDG (Every 3 Years),
- FAR Part 145 for Certified FAA Repair Stations (Every 2 Years)
